David Ferguson from The Central Coast (July 11)"My wife and I had been looking for a camper trailer for quite some time. We did our research on the internet, went to see quite a few manufacturers and also attended the Maitland show. Overall the quality of Australian built camper trailers was fantastic, however several things stood out about Explorer Campers.
1. They make their own canvas tents on site using Australian canvas and after comparing with other options, I can confidently say they are of the highest quality. Scott's canvas workmanship is fantastic.
2. Their customer service is second to none.
3. The campers come with the features and options you need, built to last practically forever but at a reasonable price.
Andrew and Scott spent quite some time with us in their showroom and then again at the Maitland show. We really wanted the Lawson Off-rd model but couldn't afford it - so we went looking for second hand and found a 12 month old Explorer Lawson for a reasonable price that had been around Asutralia and was still in fantastic condition, so we purchased it.
I must admit, when I went back into the showroom I felt a little bad for buying second hand after all the help we had received, but Scott and Andrew were just as excited about us purchasing the camper as we were. they offered to show is how to erect the tent, fold it away and were kind enough to provide us with some instructional paperwork. This sort of after sales service is fantastic considering we didn't purchase the trailer from them!
Since getting our trailer in june 2011, we have used it twice and love it! We have purchased an extra annex wall, extra gas bottle holder, upgraded to the new 'two step' bed stairs, and added a second 12v battery and can't wait to try it out again.
I have no hesitation in recommending Explorer Campers. If you are looking for friendly honest service and a quality product, please go and see Scott and Andrew"
Laurie & Pam from The Central Coast (Feb 11) "One year on since we bought our Explorer camper trailer from you. We have used it quite often with trips to places like Munmorah Sate Forest, Swansie, Belmont Pines, The Entrance Twin Shores, Wangi Wangi (3), Patonga (5), Orange, Hill End, Sofala, Abercrombie Caves, Tea Gardens, Mungo Brush (2), and more. Everywhere we go we get asked where we did get the camper from etc, etc. The best statement is 'is this your first time out? Its so new looking!' We were asked atleast four times at our most recent trip at Patonga in Feb 2011. After atleast 20 adventures, its a real testomony to the effort and precision that you put into making them. As our circumstances have now changed, we will be travelling a lot further with our Explorer knowing we have a camper that will go the distance and still look great after. Good one Boys!"
Paul Salzmann from Western Sydney (October 10) "We are currently sitting here at Renmark, after three and a half weeks of being on our trip with the camper trailer. We took off to Uluru and the Northern Territory for a four week family holiday. We have endured torrential rain, freezing cold nights, howling wind speeds, driven 200kms on a wet muddy slosh track, but the best of all, we have seen and experienced some amazing places. We would just like to say how happy we are with the camper."
Geoff & Nadeen Hancock from Western Sydney (April 10) "We have used the Blaxland twice now - 8 nights at Easter and 2 nights on ANZAC long weekend. It is an absolutely awesome camper. We are wrapt with every aspect of it from the ease of setup, quality of the workmanship, to the spacious interior. On both trips people have stopped to comment on the setup.
Scott, a special thanks to you for your patience throughout our "research" phase of the many campers on the market. I know it seemed to drag on and there were many questions, but from the first time we saw you in late January we had benchmarked the Blaxland as 'The Camper' and everything else we looked at was referenced to it.
When we saw you at the Queanbeyan Camping & Caravan Show it didn't stop raining for the two days and your tents on display were the only two we saw that were not leaking. That in itslef told us a lot about the quality of the materials, workmanship and pride that goes into each trailer. Whilst we had originally budgeted for an 'imported' camper, we found nothing that matched the quality and long-term value you would provide and decided anything less would not be a wise investment.
Upon arriving at your premises to pick up our new camper we were pleasantly suprised with the amount of time and attention to detail you provided in giving us a full demonstration.
Thankyou both for your professional service and feel free to pass on our number to anyone looking for some feedback from an owners perspective. We will be glad to recommend you."
Belinda and Luke Rudgley from the Central Coast (January 10) "Just wanted to let you know that since purchasing our Explorer Camper in Aug 09, our family has been creating some beautiful memories. We have been on a number of trips up the North Coast and plan on having a camping weekend every two months. Our camper trailer provides our family with some great times. Our 3 yr old daughter calls it her 'holiday house' and as our eldest daughter has started school it also provides us with cheap holidays during school holidays. During our travels other travellers have been amazed by how fast and easy we put up and pull down the camper tent. In fact, we are quite proud of ourselves and love that we look like professionals. Just wanted to say thanks for the great trailer. Our camper provides some relief in our stressful lives and we now feel like we are achieving the perfect work/life balance by looking forward to the planned camping trips ahead of us."
Roger and Linda from Albion Park (November 09) "Well we are back from our big trip around Oz. We did 30,000kms in four months from Sydney to Broken Hill, Port Augusta, Ayers Rock via the Oodnadatta Track, Alice Springs, Daly Waters, Kakadu, Darwin, Litchfield, down the Gibb River Road to Broome, (took a detour to Drysdale Station along the way), Cape Leveque, then down the Western Australian Coast to Perth (including the Pilbara). Did the southern part of WA including Kalgoorlie then home via the Nullarbor Plain and the Eyre Peninsular. The trailer went really well and we are over the moon with its performance. We went everywhere and had the most positive comments about how big a clean it was. Most other campers don't keep the dust out as well as the Explorer. We went through many rivers and creeks, dust, and in the later part of the trip around southern WA, it rained for 15 days straight, the Explorer handled it all without a hitch. The best feature was it towed like it wasn't there. We would not swap the Explorer Camper for anything else on the road!! - PS off to the Cape next year - can't wait!!"
Paul and Dale Craft of Newcastle (October 09) "Well we've had our first weekend in our new camper. BLOODY AWESOME!!! We took it up to our club's (Newcastle Landrover Club) camp ground, where there was much interest shown. After driving in with it in tow, we had an audience for the setup. All expecting us to have trouble, knowing it was the first time we were setting up - but disappointed they all took their camp chairs and wondered off after Dale pulled the tent over with the greatest of ease.... Thanks for a great camper, made the way we wanted and delivered when you said you would. All the best guys."
Bob and Jann Wood of Sydney (July 09) "Andrew & Scott, we finally had time to take our Explorer Camper out. The workmanship on Tent and Trailer is a credit to you both. It was everything we expected and more. It rained for 2 days and inside stayed as dry as a bone. Thanks for your help and advice while we were purchasing the Trailer. You made the experience so easy and without any problems. Thanks again for all your help."
Laurie Vran from the Central Coast (March 09) "We took our new Lawson Camper Trailer to Dungog on its maiden voyage an d camping debut. What a trailer! After camping in ordinary tents, we were spoilt! Thanks to both of you, Andrew and Scott for a wonderful experience. From initial contact, finding out what we wanted to driving away with the finished product and ongoing support. We've already recommended Explorer Campers to other people who also were amazed at our set up. Thanks again!"
Stephen & Sharyn Mumford of Gosford (December 08) "We took our new camper trailer away last weekend, and we were very happy with the way it towed, the quick and easy set up design as well as the quality of the manufacture. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with both of you. We are grateful for the time you took in listening to our needs and ensuring that delivery was prompt with no hiccups, problems or hidden costs."
Peter and Michelle Barrois of the Central Coast (November 08) "After great service and price, we picked up our camper from at Explorer Campers & Canvas. Our 2 year search had finished as we knew exactly what we wanted, but just couldn't find it UNTIL we stumbled across Andrew and Scott. A couple of hours later, as they had the time and dedication to us with a great price and product to boot, we had bought our long life dream with everything we wanted. We travelled from NSW down to the Great Ocean Road (VIC), and we had such a fantastic time with the comfort of our camper that we didn't want to return. So, thanks to Andrew and Scott, and what a top quality product."
Joanne and Darren Skaines from Armidale (September 08) "We thought it was time to send you some pics from our latest weekend away, we are at Broomes Head right on the beach. We absolutely love our camper and recommend you guys to everyone who comments on it, all comments have been compliments. All are surprised at the height inside and space. We are very happy with our purchase and look forward to lots more weekends and holidays in our Explorer Camper, Thanks Guys on a great job."
